The Medical Equipment & Technology Association (META) continues to extend free memberships to individual healthcare technology management professionals, students, and associates.

In addition, META offers distinctive memberships to educators and society leaders. These categories allow members to post special information about the educational programs and associations that support the development and growth of our profession.

This year, make a commitment to your profession. Consider joining and working with international associations like META, regional and national associations, and your local electronics and engineering programs.

Specifically founded to address the needs of technicians and managers in depots, in the field, and in hospitals, META is pleased to see the increased opportunities available from other organizations such as AAMI ( www.aami.org), FMESA ( www.fmesa.org), ACCE ( www.accenet.org), and local Biomed/CE associations ( www.mymeta.org/association_map)over the last few years. Building on our strengths, META collaborates with organizations to promote the interests of our profession.

    Sincerely,

The Board of Directors and Executive Committee

The Medical Equipment & Technical Association is currently seeking applications for interim Board Members; Moderators for our forums on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google; Web Developers; and anyone interested in supporting the association.

Over the past year, a dedicated group META Board Members have worked diligently to reinvigorate the organization. We struggle without the right number or quality volunteers. That is where you come in.

Do you want to support your fellow Healthcare Technology Management Professionals (Biomeds, CE, CE-ITs, Field Service Engineers, etc.)?

Do you have at least one to two hours a week to help META, another international/national association, or your local association?

Do you want to volunteer your time so that we can make as much free stuff available to the community as possible?

Contact me directly at dustin.telford@gmail.com or almighty_zeus@msn.com . Volunteer orientation sessions will be scheduled soon.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Medical Equipment & Technology Association (META). Many Biomeds, Clinical Engineers, and associates involved in our profession responded with a resounding "yes, I am interested!"

META will hold informational sessions for volunteers over the next few weeks. These half-hour sessions will provide an overview of the META mission, our goals, and where people are most needed along with a period for questions. Following the informational sessions, we would like to have individual conversations with volunteers to find the best match for your interest and energy.

A schedule is posted on the META website at http://www.mymeta.org/Default.aspx?pageId=650232 and our META Facebook Page under events at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=164227480257272 . Invitations have been sent to individuals who have already expressed interest; if you would like to attend, please sign up through one of the resources above.

The Medical Equipment & Technology Association (META) needs your help. As many local and regional Biomed associations have struggled meeting goals from time to time, so has META.

Consider volunteering with META on a national level and your local association. The META volunteer and leadership base has experienced natural turnover due to external pressures and time commitments. We need to fill various roles, including:

    By-Laws and Ethics Committee

    Corporate Sponsorships Committee

    Elections and Nominations Committee

    Education Planning Committee

    Finance Committee

    Membership Committee

    Publications Committee

    Volunteer Coordinators

    Website Committee

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact:
